Job Summary:

The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for: researching, analyzing, and formulating recommendations regarding networking technologies, products, and solutions to fulfill requirements within the enterprise.

Role: multiple projects, operating within a large range of technologies, simultaneously, while continuing to manage day-to-day responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

? Analyzes and estimates feasibility, costs, time, and work effort needed to design and implement moderately complex technical solutions.

? Assists in the planning, design and implementation of new technology solutions; ensuring company standards and policies are being followed by service provider and external vendors.

? Provides architectural direction and capacity planning strategies to ensure network scalability and functionality.

? Owns and supports proof of concept activities introducing new networking technology in to the existing infrastructure environment.

? Assists with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures.

? Analyzes existing operations and make recommendations for the improvement and development of the relevant IT systems.

? Communicates with vendors and service providers to gain a clear understanding of product or service capabilities and costs

? May lead projects with small to moderately sized scope and teams.

? Communicate in written and verbal forms to all levels of the organization on service infrastructure issues and plans.

? Incorporate ITIL best practices in the go forward plans and procedures for technology infrastructure.

? Collaborates with service provider and external vendors on root cause analysis for problems related to technology infrastructure.

? Develops and documents support plans to facilitate the transition of ongoing support activities to service provider.

Experience and Education:

? Bachelor?s degree in computer science or related field and/or 4+ years of professional IT service desk and leadership experience

? A minimum of 3 years of experience working with outsourced vendors, or contract vendor support.

? At least 7 years of network engineering experience is required

? Current Cisco or Microsoft Certification desired
