The Senior Project Director will also be the lead point of contact
with the client and with the applicable Engineer-Procure-Construct
(EPC) company.
Manage the overall planning and execution of activities needed to
be performed to satisfy contractual obligations, in a manner that
satisfies customer expectations, and achieves Company business
objectives (e.g., profitability). This includes ensuring that cost,
schedule, and quality expectations meet customer expectations as
set forth in appropriate contracts.
2. Lead cross functional team in product realization project to
complete design development and readiness for deployment
3. Be a principal point of contact for client issues arising in
connection with the performance of work under a client contract and
ensuring prompt and appropriate resolution.
4. Provides direction and coordinates all client related contracts
and supporting project team's PMs, project control leads, and
functional leads. Communicates and coordinates client and business
objectives to all supporting project team leaders. Coordinates with
organization management personnel to ensure appropriate assignment
of qualified resources.
5. Responsible for managing schedule and financial performance for
the assigned client project.
6. Has overall responsibility for client communications on
execution-related issues. Ensures that the project file is
appropriately documented to protect the interests of the Company.
Accountable for claims being prepared timely and submitted to the
customer.
7. Working with the Sales Account Manager, provides review and
input on the feasibility of work outlined in proposals presented to
customers with a focus on ability to execute proposed work,
profitability and other pertinent execution factors.
8. Identify and inform the Sales Account Manager when the customer
proposes new scopes of work to be performed so that modifications
to existing contracts can be prepared, proposed, and executed as
contract amendments or as new contracts.
9. Serves as the lead representative regarding the company's
participation and representation in power plant delivery project
meetings held by the customer, its consultants, and/or the EPC or
construction program manager.
10. Develops, maintains and controls client and contract-specific
plans and procedures needed for the efficient execution of the
program. Maintains the group's standard of high quality and timely
completion of tasks. Develops, as needed, project instructions and
other administrative directives in support of appropriate contract
and project execution.
11. Documents and maintains, in a Client Execution Plan, the
overall client schedule and program execution strategy.
12. Identifies and takes action to process scope change order
requests and contract modifications as appropriate. Ensures that
contractual commercial terms and conditions are satisfied and
maintains an appropriate internal project record and correspondence
with the customer to protect commercial position.
MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
- Education: A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in engineering or
construction management preferred or suitable professional
experience considered. Project Management Institute (PMI) or
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
certification program completion is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years' experience in project management
for projects with a high degree of complexity and with multiple
interfaces, with preference for experience in the management of the
delivery of services and equipment for customers in support of
power plant deployment projects. Other preferred experience
includes:
- Project management experience in the nuclear industry, energy
industry, power plant architect/engineering (A/E), power plant
engineering-procurement-construction (EPC), or U.S. Department of
Energy nuclear projects.
- An overall knowledge of the fundamental operating principles and
systems associated with a nuclear power plant.
- A diverse and general understanding of engineering, licensing,
operational and supply chain disciplines, and ability to provide
guidance on a wide spectrum of integrated challenges in delivering
scopes of supply in these areas.
- In-depth understanding of program and project management
concepts, principles, and theories; as well as schedule logic
development, estimating and schedule and cost control and program
risk assessment and risk mitigation activities.
- Demonstrated application of integrated cost and schedule control,
or ANSI EIA-748-C Earned Value Management System practices.
- Working understanding and experience in dealing with EPC,
equipment supply, and services commercial contract terms and
conditions. Experience developing change orders and collecting
information needed to prepare and submit contract claims.
- Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of
Energy 10 CFR, Part 810
