OVERVIEWThe Manager, Waste Auditing leads waste assessment
initiatives and oversees EPR compliance programs. This role will
play a critical part in advancing our sustainability efforts by
conducting waste audits, optimizing materials recovery, and
ensuring compliance and reporting with EPR regulations.Responsible
for engaging with outside agencies, transporting samples to and
from facilities, interacting with internal teams and management.
Gathers and reports on data, researches market conditions, oversees
budget. Manages auditing team including an auditing Supervisor.KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and execute comprehensive waste audits to assess waste
composition, diversion rates, and contamination levels across
various facilities and generation sources.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize waste generation,
increase recycling rates, and improve material recovery.
- Oversee Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs,
ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal
regulations.
- Manage the transportation of samples from EPR facilities to
designated audit locations (including COR facilities), ensuring
proper handling and documentation.
- Collaborate with producers, manufacturers, and industry
stakeholders to enhance product stewardship and sustainable
packaging initiatives.
- Analyze audit findings to pinpoint areas where waste can be
minimized through improved recycling, reuse, or source reduction
strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing audit findings and
recommendations.
- Ensure adherence to local and regulatory waste management
standards.
- Collaborate with employees and external stakeholders to promote
awareness of waste reduction initiatives.
- Hire, develop, coach, promote and terminate employees on the
waste auditing team. Manage day-to-day activities of teams, approve
time and attendance, and ensure coverage of needed tasks.KEY

sustainability.REQUIRED & DESIRED EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years in a lead/supervisor/manager role overseeing a team in
waste auditing or a similar field required.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability,
Waste Management, or equivalent experience required.
- 3+ years of experience in waste auditing, waste management, EPR
compliance, or sustainability program development required.
- Strong knowledge of solid waste regulations, EPR frameworks,
and circular economy principles required.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting using
Excel, GIS, or other waste management tools required.
- Certifications in Zero Waste, Circular Economy, SWANA, or other
industry-relevant programs preferred.PHYSICAL, DRIVING,
ENVIRONMENTAL, TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended
periods.
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments and varying weather
conditions.
- Capability to climb ladders, operate lifts, and work at heights
as needed.
- Frequent exposure to waste materials, odors, and outdoor
elements.
