ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer
to join our team at our mill in Portland, Oregon. As the Sr.
Mechanical Engineer, this individual will use their knowledge of
machinery, fabrication, welding, hydraulics, machining, and piping
to perform functions of project management, design, and technical
support as defined by all departments in a timely, accurate, and
cost-effective manner. Senior Mechanical Engineers are responsible
for providing all departments with equipment and designs that meet
company standards and deliver project objectives.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting services to
maintenance and operations departments
- Recommending and managing capital projects
- Remaining current with EVRAZ business, including appropriate
level of understanding of product manufacturing processes and
applied technologies
- Writing project proposals, including business rules, process
description, business controls, opportunities, costs, and
benefits
- Writing requirement specifications, high level design, and
architecture specifications for projects and plant
processesRequirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects involving
equipment, buildings, machinery, process piping, cooling systems,
combustion systems, pneumatics, power distribution, PLCs, drives,
and other systems in a heavy manufacturing environment; steel
experience, strongly preferred
- Experience with troubleshooting complex manufacturing
processes, mechanical systems and processes, and automation and
control systems
- Mechanical and project management experience and combustion
systems experience, preferred. Computer literate with experience in
spreadsheets, word processing, Autocad, and project management
software
- Demonstrated experience in bringing large projects to
completion by creating collaboration between operating processes,
project objectives, and unifying efforts of management,
maintenance, and project team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with
demonstrated ability to write technical documents, specifications,
