Location:
This position is remote based out of Portland OR, and will be
required to regularly travel to Portland, North Bend, and Beaverton
(up to 4 to 5 times per week for meetings).
Pay Range:
The full hourly pay range is $29.39 - $44.09
We provide an additional $2.00 per hour bilingual differential for
those employees who can support our members' financial needs
effectively in a second language; subject to verification of strong
grasp of financial terms utilizing language skillset.
Compensation decisions are determined using factors such as
relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training.
Should an offer of employment be made, we will consider individual
qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives
are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance
based and targets vary by role.
Job Overview:
This position provides financial planning services and implements
financial plans. Responsible for providing policy and investment
services as required including follow-up on recommendations or
quotations provided to members. Develops internal and external
referral sources through participation in credit union events,
community activities, and participation in seminars to member
groups.
What you'll do:
Approaches clients through a combination of methods, including
mail, phone solicitations, presentations to groups, and public
speaking to member groups on the general subject of financial
well-being.
Determines the extent of present coverage or investments, as well
as a plan for long-term goals and makes recommendations
accordingly.
Develops internal and external referral sources through
participation in Credit union events, community activities, and
participation in seminars to member groups. May coordinate and
conduct presentations and member seminars as needed.
Ensures that all disclosure documents are properly explained to,
understood, and signed by the member.
Follows up on all leads.
Participates in the development of annual audit plans.
Makes sales and retention calls on prospects and clients with the
objective of securing new sales, additions to existing accounts and
increasing total account revenues.
Meets sales volume and standards of activity.
Provides financial planning services and implements financial
plans.
Provides policy and investment service as required including
follow-up on recommendations or quotations provided to members.
Refers members as appropriate to the credit union for services.
Schedules fact-finding appointments with clients to ascertain their
particular needs and financial situations.
Takes securities and insurance applications and opens securities
and insurance accounts.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Certifications: Series 7, Series 66 or Series 65 & Series 63, and
Insurance License.
A minimum of three (3) years experience in direct sales in the
securities and insurance industries or an equivalent combination of
education and/or experience required.
What you'll bring:
Knowledge and understanding credit union, structure, direction,
goals, business plan, member service expectations, financial
performance and other critical aspects of the credit union.
Knowledge of Financial Planning concepts and components including
insurance, cash flow analysis, college, net worth, mortgage and
debt analyses, and other components that are part of basic
Financial Planning information gathering and analysis.
Knowledge of the products and services offered by credit union
including the various types of loan and investment options
available.
Gather and analyzing basic financial services data.
Skilled in budgeting, planning and goal setting.
Skilled in sales methods and techniques, including active follow-up
activities.
Ask the right questions and uncover another's needs, goals, and
existing situation and to prepare an organized well thought out
analysis, which provides essential and personal information so a
personal plan can be developed and offered to members.
Identify weaknesses in a member's financial picture and resolve the
weakness by recommending changes.
Interact in a very skilled and professional manner with the
membership.
Obtain and maintain financial certification, Series 7, 63, and 65
licenses and life/health/disability/long-term care insurance
licenses.
Total Rewards:
This position is eligible for Full-Time Regular benefits. Employees
and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of
employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life
insurance coverage. Includes an option for Medical, Dental, and
Vision insurance to be paid at a 100% by company for the employee
only coverage. We also offer Health Care FSA (HCFSA), Health
Savings Account (HSA) with employer contributions, and Dependent
Care FSA (DCFSA). Employees also have access to Life and AD&D
insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our 401k plan. Full-Time
Regular employees accrue 8 hours of vacation and 8 hours of sick
leave, on a monthly basis. Full-Time Regular hired employees also
receive 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, 1 floating
holiday, 16 hours of self-care time, and 16 hours of volunteer
time.
All benefits except 401k start the first of the month following
date of hire. Employees become eligible to contribute to 401k on
the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
